CTG’s structural technology can transfer load in several different conditions with a number of joining solutions. One of the composite to metallic interfaces is designed to be pre-loaded, resulting in a fatigue proof component and can withstand large loads up to >1000KN. Others rely on a similar joint to the transmission shafts providing a lower costs and weight solution. Depending upon the application, these components are structurally designed to resist compression, tension, bending and torque loads.

CTG’s tie rods and struts transfer load in several different conditions. Depending upon the application, these components are structurally designed to resist compression, tension, bending and torque loads. Different end fittings can be added including clevis, forks and rod end to attach to the aircraft structure.

Structural Applications

CTG patented structural technology has a wealth of applications from interior tie rods to centre wing box struts to hold open rods on engine nacelles. The composite solution provides a significant weight saving over metal equivalents, typically 30%.The additional stiffness can provide longer and stiffer components and the patented joining technology will provide a weight and cost saving to other composite solutions.
